It is often said that we live in the information age. But it is becoming increasingly clear that the rise of information technologies have also made the rise of misinformation and disinformation more rapid and more dangerous than every before. According to Adrian Yee, coming to grips with these challenges requires using the tools of history and philosophy of science to not only understand the nature of disinformation, but also to evaluate recent attempts to control it.
