In this episode, we have Jeanne Pichoff, LOTR, IBCLC. Jeanne is a pediatric occupational therapist and IBCLC (international board certified lactation consultant) with 17 years of experience in a variety of pediatric settings, including NICU, early intervention, and outpatient pediatrics.  Jeanne discovered a passion for infant treatment and feeding therapy early in her career.  As she began to treat more families who were struggling with breastfeeding, she realized that her training as a feeding therapist left her with a gap in knowledge, as breastfeeding was not covered extensively in any of her courses as a therapist.  This understanding, coupled with an experience struggling to breastfeed her second child, lit a fire in Jeanne to learn more about lactation in order to be able to provide comprehensive care to breastfeeding dyads.  She became a CLC (certified lactation counselor) in 2018 and an IBCLC in 2020, after years of study and clinical practice.  Jeanne opened her solo private practice, Flourish Pediatric Therapy and Lactation, in 2019, which is devoted largely to the niche practice area of infant feeding/feeding therapy and lactation support.  Jeanne is a voracious consumer of continuing education and is continually seeking to increase her clinical skills to better serve the families under her care.  She is also a provider of continuing education through the Lactation OT platform, teaching two courses geared to therapists wanting to blend the worlds of therapy and lactation, with one course on tongue ties/breastfeeding and the other on management of failure to thrive.    We chat about the pros of building your business, acquiring new skills and exploring the uncomfortable areas of your life.We get into all the things!
