Brandy and David tackle the tension between two core values in our universities and colleges. The value of Freedom of speech/freedom of expression and the value of equal protection. Even if we believe that Jewish sensitivities around antisemitism are not treated the same as other campus groups and not afforded the same protections should we be advocating for that? Or should we be arguing for sustaining, preserving, and promulgating a free speech environment on campus because that serves our long-term interests and benefits the interests of an academic environment?
