You should not set an arbitrary goal especially if the amount is not what you set for yourself. It is great to have some emotions behind your goals because you'll know that it'll be rewarding at the end.

Society shouldn't be your basis in everything that you do. Focus on what you want to do because Society will judge you anyway. Create your long term goals to have financial freedom in the future.
