Jul 8, 2019 Joey DeFrancesco has been recording since 16, now 48 he is one of the hardest working man/ in his prime /creating his own path/trailblazer. Just in the last couple of years, he has been on a tear. In 2017, Joey DeFrancesco recording the “Project Freedom with the People”, which was nominate for the 2018 Grammy Award for the Best Jazz Instrumental. In April 2018, he collaborated with Van Morrison with “You Are Driving Me Crazy”.  A following promotional tour Then, December 2018 the second recording with Van Morrison called “The Prophet’s Speaks”. In 2019 he releases “In the Key of the Universe” with a special guest Pharaoh Sanders He is touring like a mad man.  I just caught him at the new venue in Bmore called, “The Keystone Corner”  Joey DeFrancesco has a long-standing show called, “Organized” Friday’s at 7pm each week on SirusXM Real Jazz Channel 67.  Where is talking about jazz and the Hammond B – highlighting the hero’s -Shirley Scott, jimmy McGriff, and Dr. Lonnie Smith.
