Show notes
As Black women, we often feel that movements such as International Women’s Day are not speaking to us. But, it’s important to find pockets of joy such as watching incredible performers such as Lizzo in concert and amplifying the need for Black Deaf representation in movies such as Creed III. Love Island is officially over (until summer 🤪) and shows such as these makes us wonder where the onus lies on the portrayal and experience of Black women on TV. Are the expectations of female maintenance too high? We chat about our own maintenance, how people should mind their own business, and the ridiculous conversations that surround Black women’s hair.
