As the barley harvest draws to a close, we meet the two widows, Ruth and Naomi, in great suspense. Will the God who has ended the famine, led them back to Bethlehem, and provided for them in the fields of Boaz continue to show up for them? And with God’s potential means of redemption now entering the story in the form of Boaz, we will ask with these women, “how willing is he to redeem?”
