Reagan's War on Drugs sought to end drug violence in our country, resulting in the sudden overcrowding of public prisons. With every problem there is a solution however, and for a few entrepreneurs in the 1980's that solution was simple: Private Prisons. Private prisons are a controversy for the ages and in episode 18 we take a look at the history and creation of private prisons in America and their impact on crime, high incarceration and recidivism.
