If we had a different type of society—-where who you love, who you’re attracted to, had no social, political, economic, or safety implications—- coming out wouldn’t be a thing. Feminists argue that the personal is political. The past few days since coming out publicly, I’ve been struck by the profound truth of this assertion. This shouldn’t have to be a thing. How much more joy would we have in our lives, in our world, if coming to terms with your sexuality didn’t even have to be a process? What would the world look like if this wasn’t a thing you had to come to terms with? How much more present could we be for the people we love, the work that we do, the communities we’re part of? This bonus episode digs into these questions, and delves a bit into my upbringing to give context to my story of wrestling with my sexuality. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dr-liz/support
