She has spent over 27 years working as a medical speech-language pathologist and has been richly rewarded with high patient success rates and the amazing feeling that she is changing lives for the better. That’s what we all want, right? She is now an assistant professor at an accredited graduate program, sits on the Minnesota Speech Language Hearing Association Executive Committee as the Future Professional Committee Advisor, is a state and national speaker on dysphagia topics, and is on an upcoming Oscar-qualified TV documentary with producer Susie Singer Carter. Mattie has written a second book titled Lessons on Becoming: 52 Weekly Inspirations & Reflections on How to Become the SLP You Were Meant to Be and is also the voice on The Missing Link for SLPs Podcast, which has over 75k downloads. Last but not least, she is the wisdom and experience as the SLP Career Coach at Badass SLP.
