Sit with me as we hear from traveling nurse and therapeutic movement coach Angie Berrett. Angie is a survivor of many traumas to include childhood trauma and relationship trauma. Angie speaks of her trauma as a child and how those effects dissipated and were repressed memories until she became an adult and faced another, pretty severe trauma. Angie shares her struggles with being a nurse as well as a ER nurse and how both of those roles really took its toll on her mental health. She shares her lived experience working in a high stress, high octane profession that did not give her the opportunity to process through some of those traumatic experiences. She shares Angie speaks about what she felt her rock bottom was and how it led into addictive behaviors. Angie speaks about her struggles as an adult to cope with those traumas, which led her to seek out mental health services. Angie speaks about meditation, yoga, and movement or play, and how they have helped her recover from some of these traumatic experiences. I really enjoyed this episode and I think you guys will too.
