November 19, 1863, four and a half months after the Battle of Gettysburg, President Lincoln delivered what is arguably the most famous speech in American history. Its beauty, challenge and ongoing relevance make it timeless.

August 22, 1864, Lincoln took the opportunity to address soldiers directly for their service to the nation.
