<p>Ava DuVernay takes on the classic children’s sci-fi novel, with an assist from Disney, New Zealand and Oprah. It’s had some bad press, and, frankly, we disagree. Charming, colourful adventures with cute kids and smart adults, and a family-friendly message that doesn’t condescend to its tween/teen audience.</p>
