Does decluttering and organizing your home feel overwhelming? When I was an alcoholic I did not care what my living space looked like. I had clothes all over the floor and dishes were left in the sink. There was definitely more clutter than living space. Early in my recovery, making your bed right after you woke up was a huge rule, besides not drinking, of course. Every morning, I got into the practice of making my bed and, little by little, I started becoming more organized to the point where I now enjoy cleaning. There is nothing better than living in a clean and organized environment. In my opinion, the cleanliness of our home is a reflection of our state of mind.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Theresa Russell who is an intentional home organizer, marriage & family therapist, and energy healer. As the Founder + CEO of HomeGirl, she works with purpose-driven women to release mental and physical clutter to create an energetically aligned and organized life.
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, she spent 10 years as an educator teaching preschool and elementary school kids. She is a frequent speaker on creating a peaceful home, awareness of attachments to physical items, and intentional living tips for couples. As a sought after media source, Theresa’s tips have been featured on multiple podcasts.
