Stop throwing cinder blocks at people who are already drowning.Weâve all heard them. Those "Pinterest-worthy" Bible verses that sound great on a coffee mug but actually aren't in the Bible at all. We use these clichĂ©s to fill the silence when someone is hurting, but instead of offering a lifeline, weâre often just adding weight to their struggle. In this Sundayâs message, we broke down three big things people think are in the Word, but aren't:"God helps those who help themselves." The Truth: This isn't Gospel; itâs actually the opposite. If we could help ourselves, we wouldn't need a Savior. God helps those who canât help themselves. "God won't give you more than you can handle."The Truth: Life gives us more than we can handle every single day. The promise isn't that we won't be overwhelmed; itâs that God will be there with us when we are.The Challenge: Next time you see someone in a mess, instead of tossing out a clichĂ©, try saying: "Iâm here to listen. Help me understand so I know how to love you."The Answer: We don't need catchy phrases; we need community and the real, unpolished grace of God. Come get filled upâspiritually, emotionally, and physically. You donât have to have it all together to belong here.  Watch the full episode here - https://youtu.be/MW_TaoiILkA
