Our teaser for this one is “what are the oldest objects in the galaxy?” Well, globular clusters are among them for sure. In this episode, we’ll train our telescope on globular cluster M3, and share the views thanks to a camera attached to it. We’ll look at lots of pretty pictures of star clusters, of both the globular and open types, and talk about how very different the two kinds of star clusters are.

Globular star clusters are ancient structures that stimulate the imagination. What’s it like inside of one? Could they harbor interstellar civilizations? How did they form? Where are they, and just old are they?

We’ll also discuss the recent discovery of moonquakes that the geologic processes that cause them, in our first “far-out fact” segment!

Give it a view!
