"He thrashed against whatever was holding him, desperately trying to kick himself free. The woman in blue smiled and he then heard what he knew was her voice inside his head. 'Stay…. stay…'”

A quote from our second story. For our first tale today, we explore the Cajun legend of the Cauchemar, a specific, demonic spiritual presence believed by some living in and around certain parts of Louisiana to harm them after it invades their dreams. And for the second story, we head to Georgia for tales to stories revolving around the first haunted body of water we’ve talked about so far here on Scared to Death - Lake Lanier. And then Lynze shares some listener tales of allegedly true terror.

Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."
