After hearing that Californian politicians are trying to undo his work to fight discrimination Ward Connerly has re-entered the political arena. Mr. Connerly was crucial in the passing of prop 209 which prohibited the state, local governments, districts, public universities, colleges, and schools, and other government instrumentalities from discriminating against or giving preferential treatment to any individual or group in public employment, public education, or public contracting on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin. California's prop 16 would repeal 209 and allow for the practice of affirmative action to resume.
