We are trying to sail and save the ocean at the same time. We want to eventually go to islands and pick up all the plastic, then study how long it takes to come back. Also, we want to take the plastic, and help the locals to make it into something sellable. Thus, we cleaned up the plastic form the shoreline and empowered the locals to do so by turning it into something useful. In this way, their economy benefits from a more beautiful place for tourists to visit and they sell products thereby increasing their own local economy.
