Our selfish nature leads us to suffocate the small things, yes, but even the most altruistic ideas we have -- ones geared to help others.  

My season in the entrepreneurial wilderness taught me (painfully) the punishment of letting this happen and how to prevent our selfishness from sucking the life out of our greatest ideas.  

Hint: We accept that they were never ours to own.
