Hey RWC!
In celebration of The Boston Marathon I want to read two poems today.
But First…did you see that finish! WOW! I had goosebumps watching the women's race, they were shoulder to shoulder (literally) most of the 26.2 miles.
It was amazing and what a finish to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the women’s race. Only eight women toed the line 50 years ago, on Monday 12,100! OH YEAH!
Now look at us! Go! Go! Go!
Poems of the Day:
HEARTBREAK HILL
They call it Heartbreak HillAnd now I know why It’s perfectly placed in the marathon To make you dig deep It may even make you weep It will be hard It will be toughYou're running in Boston This is what you signed up forYour dream coming true The yells and shouts from the crowdKeeps you going and feeling proud Your legs want to slow down but your mind says NO! Let’s go, don’t stop You’re almost to the topDon’t back down Pump your armsShorten your strideLean forward and Enjoy the ride As you take in the viewYou feel a pull It’s your heart—Not breakingBut full WILLOW TREEI saw a beautiful graceful Willow treeHanging down— inviting me To jump up and give it a high fiveYou made it to Boston Your dream of running has come alive I couldn’t be happier A smile across my faceFeeling connected withEvery runnerWith each stride I make The camarderie is intensifying The count down to The marathon begins Just like the willow tree Standing tall, marvelous, strongWe are together and unified We are Boston Strong! This is a public episode.
