Former Liberal MP Michelle Simson has written a letter to current members of parliament in which Ms. Simson charges "the government's attempt to alter our fixed election date by a matter of days... Is simply to enrich MPs elected for the first time in 2019, ensuring their eligibility for a lifetime, gold-plated pension.

"Self-serving" and "transparently money-grubbing" are words Simson also uses in her letter.
