Why Comedy Makes Life Worth Living w/ Colum Tyrrell

Tyrrell is an Irish comedian who is friends with a few of Patton’s former guests.

Tyrrell wants to start a UFC live stream with other New York based comedians.

Patton doesn’t enjoy watching one sided fights.

Terrell started performing comedy in Ireland, 2011. He moved to New York in 2014.

“No one has ever succeeded in it that has stopped.” (Tyrrell)

Performing stand up was one of those things Patton knew he had to try.

Patton unfortunately didn’t mesh well with the local comedians because of their poor attitudes.

The success of his YouTube channel and podcast has allowed Tyrrell the ability to not rely on making money performing on stage.

One of the reasons Tyrrell chose to pursue comedy is because it didn’t feel like work due to how much he enjoyed it.

Tyrrell references how Bill Burr uses jokes from former podcasts to add into his new specials.

Patton and Tyrrell are both big fans of Adam Sandler.

Tyrrell was “boozing hard” during the pandemic.

Cancel culture is real but doesn’t seem to be long lasting.

Patton once drove a motorcycle on the sidewalk and almost got pulled over, but eventually the cop found where he lived and got him in trouble.

In jail, Patton was robbed of his Tang drink mix powder.

Tyrrell has experimented with many different drugs, including DMT.

Patton and Tyrrell are both familiar with Psilocybin mushrooms.

If you don’t experience anything profound or transformational during the ceremony, at least have fun and stay positive.

Getting information from successful YouTuber’s is a great source.

Most of the comedy scene keeps their works in progress hush hush.

Being consistent and keeping your quality high in whatever you do will lead to success.

Patton believes that Tyrrell will be very successful with comedy.

Terrell has worked with many different minorities in the construction business, having grown up doing different manual labor jobs to support himself.
