First, Thessalonians chapter five continues the discussion of hope of the resurrection started in the previous chapter. Paul reminds readers that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. However, Paul reminds readers that they are not in the dark but are children of the light and can have peace in Jesus. Paul encourages readers to build each other up, honor their teachers, and teach others. The chapter ends with a few last instructions and a final greeting. Pastor Jason highlights the appeal to honor those who pour into us. Pastor Ryan emphasizes the need to test everything.
