Episode 3 of Law & Order, "The Reaper's Helper," tells the story of a gay man who completes suicide as a result of his HIV/AIDS diagnosis. He was assisted by a friend who was involved in the suicides of three other gay men. This episode was loosely inspired by the story of Dr. Jack Kervorkian and the 130 suicides he assisted in an 8-year period.
