Dr. Deramo is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Retina Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been the primary author of many articles that have appeared in the ophthalmic literature and has co-authored an ophthalmic textbook.

Dr. Rhee has been a co-investigator in several national studies on macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vascular disease, as well as having been voted Teacher of the Year for multiple years by the Northwell Health/Hofstra University School of Medicine Ophthalmology residency
