Room: STG-3 Orla Brennan, Susa Pop, Francesca Ferguson, Aileen Iverson   Susa Pop: Connecting Cities is a European and worldwide expanding network aiming to build up a connected infrastructure of media facades, urban screens and projection sites to circulate artistic and social content. In opposition to the commercial use of these urban media, we establish them as platforms on which citizens can exchange – within the city as much as between cities. Connecting Cities Network pursues artistic research programmes that combine workshops and conferences with the production of interactive artworks which are presented every year during the Connecting Cities Events. The Connecting Cities Network is initiated by Public Art Lab in collaboration with 24 partners worldwide. Francesca Ferguson : Make City Vom 11. bis 28. Juni 2015 findet in Berlin zum ersten Mal das internationale Festival für Architektur und Andersmachen statt. Das Festival schaut in Hinterhöfe, geht auf die Dächer der Stadt und fragt, ob Hochhäuser von Morgen aus Holz sind. Es blickt zurück auf Elektropolis und nach vorne in Wohngemeinschaften der Zukunft. Neue Formen und Strategien in der Architektur und Landschaftsarchitektur werden kombiniert mit partizipatorischen und zivilgesellschaftlichen Ansätzen des Stadt-Machens. So geht es u.a.: um  1) Urbanes Gemeingut – the urban commons – Urbane Stadtlandschaften und Freiräume. 2) Neue Formen des Wohnen und Arbeiten – Innovativer Wohnungsbau, von Baugruppen bis zu Projekten, die als Wegweiser für eine Mischung aus neuer urbaner Arbeitskultur, Wohnkonzepten und urbanem Leben stehen. 3) Gemeinsam Gestalten – Urban Open Source – Menschliche Ressourcen und partizipative Planungsprozesse, die zu einer nachhaltigen und innovativen Stadtplanung führen. Produced by Voice RepublicFor more podcasts visit http://voicerepublic.com
