Zambia is not the first country that comes to mind in a conversation about innovation in learning. The obstacles to basic learning in Zambia are not few. However, some have chosen to meet these challenges head-on and have found the environment to be an ideal test bed to create learning solutions. Could this be the beginning of an eLearning revolution?
In the session we will meet the eGranary project and the ZEDuPad. Both initiatives have undergone extensive pilot phases in Zambia in the last three years. We'll look at the education niche that each is trying to serve and possibly try to predict the future for them. Useful to observe will be Zambia's layout in terms of language, culture and attitudes towards technology. How do these affect learning?
"There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come." - Victor Hugo. Could this be Zambia's time?
