This is the story of the birth of Jesus. Why would God come to us in this way? Why would God do such a thing? It's a question I've asked and answered before - this time in a little different way.1) I think God did such a thing to show us that God's not afraid of the mess. This story is so messy - from an unwed pregnant 14 year old Mary all the way to the animals and shepherds who smell like animal poop. God's not afraid of your mess, either.2) I think God did such a thing because God considers all of creation worthy of being saved - and that includes your little life. Even though our lives are messy - God still considers us worthy. Not because of the things that we have done - God just decided we were worthy. Know this in the deepest parts of yourself - you are worthy to be saved, healed, worthy and being made whole again.3) I think God did such a thing to show us how much he loves us.
