Modern Times
Welcome to part two of our discussion of Charlie Chaplin’s classic silent film ‘Modern Times’. Here we discuss the filmmaking and plot techniques that we both appreciate and would want to change in a remake. We focus on whether to make the remake a silent film as well – maybe a hybrid silent movie instead? Jer goes seriously meta with a movie about making a movie – maybe even remaking Modern Times! Remakers Mark, the film?! We show our appreciation for the original film and of Charlie Chaplin, especially as a physical actor, wishing that there was better physical comedy today along the way.
