Society’s rich mixture of religions presents countless opportunities to encounter and explore human culture, history and thought. In Canada and around the world, modern life requires us to consider how people and societies both make and express religious meaning. In this Classes Without Quizzes lecture, Dean Ellen Aitken (Faculty of Religious Studies) looks at religious traditions as an integral dimension of society and encourages analytical attentiveness to their meaning and expression, with examples drawn from the past and present, and from locales both near and far.
