Elise joins PJ to continue covering John Carpenter’s Apocalypse Trilogy. Satan is a green ooze underneath a monastery in the sort-of sequel to 1982’s “The Thing” and chaos predictably ensues. Perhaps the most gnostic of the trilogy, PJ and Elise breakdown the occult symbolism and nihilistic messaging scene by scene in what Carpenter calls “his most controlled film, visually” and boy, is there a lot here!
