Welcome to the first episode! In this episode, I look closer at the weekly spelling test which is a staple of elementary classrooms. I challenge you to think about whether or not students are truly sounding out words and using the sound-spellings they have learned in an authentic way. I also share a few ideas for creating personalized spelling lists for kids.
