Our guest Juan spoke about his experience with addiction and recovery, and how he has been able to maintain sobriety.He talks about his difficult childhood growing up with a father who was addicted to drugs and often got kicked out of the house. Juan also describes growing up in a neighborhood filled with drugs and violence. At a young age, he began using drugs and selling them to make money. This led to him being incarcerated at 13 years old, and joining a gang in prison just to survive. The conversation then shifted to a discussion of the importance of community in recovery. Juan spoke about how community can provide support and understanding, and how it can be a powerful force in helping people to stay sober. He said that it is important to reach out for help, and to never give up on yourself.
