EPISODE4:
In this episode I yet again tried something new in a desperate attempt to claw back the 50% of listeners who gave up after one episode (a-booooo!). What did I do differently? I put in a little thing called effort. I searched my soul and decided to record an episode dedicated to one of the best and most brilliant performers of the 21st Century, and I don't say that lightly, Mr Gregory Porter. Part of this episode features an interview I recorded with Gregory for a radio show I used to have with my good friend Les. I was very drunk, very high on excitement, and completely unprepared (nothing new there), the questions were what came to my inedbriated mind in the moment. There is also a recording of a rehearsal for a band I used to play in, in which I sing a Gregory Porter song (https://youtu.be/ZWUAKq-reLQ). I then play another song recorded by Gregory using the only 7 chords I know on the guitar. It's not a funny episode this week, but it might be a good one.
Oh yeah, and there's an ill-advised recording of my absent minded sing-songing while searching for a file...I added some keyboard to attempt to polish the obvious turd.
Here's the original Les and Joe Jazz Funk & Soul show, it's definitely worth a listen: https://www.mixcloud.com/Hive_Radio/hive-radio-les-and-joe-jazz-funk-and-soul-show-gregory-porter-special-16-march-2014/
