<p>Stephanie Alvarado is a queer Afro-Indigena Latina feminista born and raised in the Bronx, NY by way of Guayaquil, Ecuador. Stephanie is a poet, multidisciplinary artist, and community organizer for 15 years. She currently facilitates the <a href='https://soundcloud.com/tags/OneBookOneBronx'>#OneBookOneBronx</a> program with The Literary Freedom Project, is the founding Program Director at Freelancers Hub, and is on the Board of Directors for Just Food, a food and racial justice organization founded in 1995.</p><p>She is our first guest for 2019, and we discuss the power of language and community, and struggling, imagining, and creating a better future.</p>

The podcast "Rebel's Without A Pause" is hosted by New York emcee Brother North of Division X and producer/DJ SoulMarcos88. They interview activists, artists, and community leaders about the work they do and the impact they have on current political and cultural issues affecting working-class urban communities: quality of life, representation in the media, and other matters. The goal is to introduce new ideas and to offer perspectives on how to tackle the many challenges working-class people face on a daily basis.
