In this episode I examine at the social distances that separate us from one another and how they come together to prevent us from solving the problems that wrack our world. When confronted with our limitations, it can be tempting to fall into the trap of nihilism. But there is a better way. A way that starts with a single person, doing what they can, with the short time that they’ve been given.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of turmoil within the medical community at large and within the emergency medical services in particular. There’s a lot of ethical questions being raised right now about how EMS providers can and should respond to this crisis. Ethical questions which I, as a full-time paramedic, have to confront on a daily basis. In this podcast I go over what the requirements are of someone working in the EMS and when those requirements can be justifiably said to end.
