How can you help someone who's stuck?
You want to help a friend, or a colleague, or a team member, to get unstuck from their "stories" that they are telling themselves and which are holding them back from success, a happier life or better outcomes at work?
Then perhaps this talk is a starting point for you. It's centred around aspects of realism, responsibility, courage and focus.
This time on #realtalk, the leadership season, Brad Solomon and I are laying out guidelines that anyone can use anytime.
What was the last time you helped someone get 'unstuck', and what was the #1 thing you did to help make that happen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
We discuss:
REALISM:
Help people stay out of their 'story' and focus on reality
RESPONSIBILITY:
Helping people to take responsibility for their feelings and emotions, can help shift their focus back to tangible outcomes
COURAGE:
Apply directness, for it is crucial to point the issues immediately to the right source
SPEED:
By getting right to the point, you redirect attention to what matters most before crucial time is lost
