According to Paul, unity is one of the greatest indications that we belong to God. In this passage we see that God has given us the gift of unity and how it plays a crucial role in our lives as believers. It is the defining attribute for God’s children to be a unified family. But we shouldn’t be surprised when opposition comes from the world, both outside and inside the church.
