Show notes
Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s. This week it’s a “once in a blue moon” edition of Rapidly Rotating Records as we have not one, but two segments about “blue” moons. I don’t mention it in the show, but a “blue moon” is a second full moon in a calendar month, so it’s not all that long a time span. We’re also going to check the stove pipe, cut loose and celebrate the birthday of Ian Whitcomb’s uncle. That would be Tolchard Evans. If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email to [email protected]. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome. As always, just click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show.Enjoy the show!Rapidly Rotating Records Show23 September, 2018Here’s the complete playlist:Segment 1: Stove PipeKitchen Stove – Paul Van Loan AHOStove Pipe Stomp – Big Bill BroonzyAll Birds Look Like Chickens To Me – Sweet Papa StovepipeSegment 2: Blue Moon 1Blue Moon – Benny Goodman AHO / Helen Ward, v.Blue Moon Blues – Tiny Parham and His MusiciansBlue Moon – Henry Theis AHOSegment 3: Blue Moon 2Blue Moonlight – Paul Whiteman and His Concert OrchestraBlue Kentucky Moon – Gene AustinOnce In A Blue Moon – Raymond Paige AHOSegment 4: On the LooseLoose Like A Goose – Bennie Moten’s Kansas City OrchestraLoose Feet – The Syncopating SkeetersNow, Cut Loose – John Williams’ Synco JazzersLoose Ankles – Andy Kirk & His Twelve Clouds of Joy / Billy Massey, v.Segment 5: Tochard EvansLady Of Spain – Tino FolgarBarcelona – Tuxedo Orchestra (Harry Reser) / Irving Kaufman, v.Lady Of Madrid – Ray Noble and His Orchestra / Al Bowlly, v.THANKS FOR LISTENING!RRR is also available as a podcast on iTunes.
