Ilana’s special guests are Keith Westbrook and Maddie Sewall from Up to Something, an emerging architecture studio practicing across Victoria and Tasmania.After more than a decade each in leadership roles at acclaimed architecture practices - Cumulus and Breathe - Keith and Maddie have come together to start something new. Their studio brings together a shared interest in sustainability, creativity, and connection to landscape.Maddie’s expertise is in sustainable housing, with a particular passion for working closely with clients on the design and delivery of meaningful, low-impact forever homes. Keith’s experience is in tourism and public architecture across Tasmania and Victoria, where he has developed a strong interest in designing spaces that shape how people experience landscapes and places.The name Up to Something reflects their curiosity and outlook on life; always exploring, discovering and creating. Outside the studio, they share a love of hiking, surfing, sailing and the arts.Alongside their architecture practice, Keith and Maddie also run Cloudstone AiR (Artist in Residency), an artist residency at their property in the hills of Mangalore outside Hobart. The residency invites artists to spend time immersed in the Tasmanian landscape, encouraging creative exchange between art, architecture and place.
