Owner and founder of Blue Spruce General Store in the Quad Cities, Brandon Carleton, sat down on the "QC, That's Where" Podcast and reminisced on his journey of entrepreneurship. As he was thinking back on some of the creative endeavors, he said, "I'm learning more and more that there are some things you just don't have to ask permission for, you can just go do it."
That simple realization has led him to operating a bakery that started with a bread subscription service to a full-blown brick and mortar bakery, deli and grocery items. 
Carleton's business continues to grow as he and his teammates say "yes" to each other's ideas, go through trial and error and forge ahead with open minds.
Blue Spruce General Store is open in Davenport, Iowa with plans to expand into Rock Island, Illinois.
