Set in a bleak future where Earth has seen better days, The Mutants is in no way subtle in its criticism of colonization and the racist policies that often result. But it wouldn’t be a Doctor Who story if there wasn’t a bug-eyed monster, a mystery involving ancient artifacts and a lost scientist, and a marathon of running through brightly lit corridors.
