Back by popular demand, two of my favorite comrades, Geo Maher and Alex Aviña, jointed me to talk about Mexico and Cuba in the teeth of empire. We discussed the US empire's continued strangulation of Cuba, the so-called war and drugs and its connection with the so-called war on terror, and the ways that people on the ground continue to resist, despite the nonstop violence against them.

Geo Maher is Coordinator of the WEB Du Bois Movement School for Abolition & Reconstruction and author of 5 books, including We Created Chávez and Building the Commune. Alex Aviña is an Associate Professor of History at Arizona State University. He is a historian of Mexico and Latin America.
