Whether you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert, finding connection and community that aligns with your values is crucial to both your personal and professional life. Despite what society might tell us, we are not machines. We can’t do it all. Instead, we need space to nourish what we do best and deserve people in our corner rooting for us and ready to help if needed. In this episode, Shannon Siriano Greenwood joins me to share not just why we all need community, but how to find and cultivate real connections that turn into supportive and lasting relationships. In this episode, you’ll also hear:Shifting social connections and why you need intergenerational friendshipsAdvice for overcoming limiting beliefs around the value you offer Suggestions for growing sustainable and supportive relationships Must-listen moments: [00:05:01] Relying on each other and supporting each other is actually a skill that you need to develop and cultivate that just wasn't a priority when we were growing up.[00:12:04] Especially for mom, business owners, and I see this all the time, we are the caregivers, we are the helpers, we are the ones that wanna swoop in and fix all the problems. And then to ask for money after that is often uncomfortable.[00:17:42] When you're talking about the value of community, it internally fills me up. It supports me when I need it in my real life, but it also is literally a value that I'm walking around with that I can give out whenever I want to, whoever I want. [00:29:21] I just had to pay someone to do it. And I realize that's not accessible for everyone. But if it is accessible for you, it is not a failure to pay for people to help you because we're supposed to have that help.Thank you for listening!About Shannon Siriano Greenwood:Founder, leader, and community builder, Shannon Siriano Greenwood is most passionate about sharing the stories of exceptional people.
