We have this guilty or bad feeling that we should never say "I love myself" and yet that is exactly what we need to do, to be a loving Christian. Jesus says "love your neighbor as yourself", so in essence, Jesus is asking us to love ourselves. Maybe it is a false or mislead understanding of true humility that leads us to think we should never love ourselves.
