Like all new discoveries, we find prayer to be great and pleasing, especially when we rediscover or convert to the Catholic Church, or maybe even join a Catholic organization such as a secular Franciscan/Carmelite, or Knights of Columbus. But eventually we lose the ferver and zeal and realize that the day to day life is still the same, do prayers even work? We start slowly ending our prayer life because it does nothing to us. We call this spiritual dryness.
