"Godzilla: King of the Monsters" takes audiences into a world where larger-than-life titans are real and have the potential to wreck havoc on humanity. That's all fine and dandy, but what good are the titans to the audience if their on-screen presences are masked by unsympathetic characters, unoriginal storylines and unrealistic writing? Can the monster action captivate die-hard fans of the Godzilla franchise the same way it can with viewers that are going in blind, or does it leave something more to be desired?
