Tonight we will be listening to the works of the talented Maya Angelou. Maya Angelou was an American poet, memoirist and civil rights activist born in 1928 and died in 2014 at the age of 86. Maya Angelou is a hugely accomplished woman, who has published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, several books of poetry etc. She also received dozens of awards and more than 50 honorary degrees. She is most well known for her series of seven autobiographies, the first being I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, which is also a poem of hers that I will be reading tonight. Enjoy.
