This week saw a standoff between hedge funds who typically make millions of dollars through a process known as short selling and a subreddit on the popular website Reddit names r/WallStreetBets who drove up prices of stocks like Game Stop, AMC, and BlackBerry in an attempt to cash in on the rising stock prices and cost these companies millions and eventually billions of dollars.
